Proposal: Minnesota Fugitive Apprehension Unit Officer Body-Worn Camera Policy

The Minnesota Department of Corrections would like to hear from you about our proposed body-worn camera policy. Your comments on the draft policy and the use of these camera will help shape how we do our work. After the comment period closes and we finalize the policy, we will be sure to post the final policy on this site, provide some feedback about the comments that came in, and share how they impacted how we are moving forward.

Here are a few suggestions for making more effective comments:

  • Be concise but be sure to support your comment with logic, evidence, and other information.
  • This process is not a vote but is an attempt to form a better policy. Well-supported, reasoned, specific comments can be most effective.
  • Clearly identify the specific part of the policy you are commenting on - identify section labels, specific language from the draft policy, etc.
  • Use your personal experiences when making comments.
  • Consider reasons some might oppose your point of view and try to respond to those views in your comment.
