  • Shout Out: Officer Traczyk's Awesome Team Work

    By John Jurek

Officer Traczyk showed awesome team work during an incident on 1st Watch.

Traczyk had the forsight to bring the WRAP device from one side of the facility to the other and prepped it while A-team suited up for cell removal of an IP despite not being on A-team. After the incident Traczyk took it upon himself to bring in the air scrubber going back and forth from each end of the facility.

Traczyk shows time and time again the true meaning of ONE TEAM, he truly exceeds expectations.

  • Brantley's Lemonade Stand

    By Ashlee Berts

Brantley's love, appreciation, and respect for all Fire and Rescue, Law Enforcement, and EMS started at an early age and has continued to grow. He has honored our dedication to serving others, by treating us to some refreshments each summer!

He finds us to be among the bravest, strongest, and most courageous people and enjoys nothing more than to make us feel important and valued. For four years he's provided Brantley's Annual FREE Lemonade Stand to those working in these fields.

MCF- Rush City staff have attended this lemonade stand and brought many representations of our work to share with Brantley (challenge coins, K9 demonstration memorabilia, etc.). As a thank you for us posting his flyers around the facility for his lemonade stand, Brantley had a sign made for us and wrote us a sweet letter.

We wanted to proudly display this appreciation! Brantley also plans to visit MCF- Rush City this summer to provide staff with lemonade on the plaza near the staff entrance.

Thank you to Officer Joe Wittwer and Case Manager Kristin Wittwer for connecting Brantley's cause with the MCF- Rush City staff!

Lt. Scott Huckell recently visited College Station Texas to attend MTG314 Large Incident ICS Training. Realistic scenarios with intensive leadership roles were required. This level of knowledge gained will certainly assist the Rush City facility in getting back to Pre-COVID levels of proficiency in the ICS area.

  • Shout Out: Officer Robert Decker Sr.

    By Officer Giles LaBelle

In March of 2024 after 25 years of manually checking in incarcerated individuals into the North Education department, Officer Robert Decker Sr. took the initiative to integrate the electronic attendance program currently utilized in our Industry area.

This project allowed us to streamline the attendance process and better track who is coming into the area. Without Ofc. Decker championing this project it may have never happened.

Ofc. Decker has dedicated his last 20 years to the department and still has many left in him.
