  • Shout Out: Rush City Sex Offender Treatment Staff

    supporting image

    By Michelle Saari

The OASIS sex offender treatment program has been severely short staffed recently resulting in one full time therapist and one therapist on loan from Lino Lakes to serve the entire program. While recruitment and hiring of new staff were a priority the past few months, Vicki Schroeder (the full time Rush City staff) and Maurita Christensen (on loan from LL) held the entire program together with the amazing support assistance of OAS Kathy Hanson.

These staff have been the glue holding the unit together running programming while helping to train-in new staff. Kristin Wittwer was also a huge help training-in staff prior to her transfer to case management.

THANK YOU for your incredible work the past few months to ensure incarcerated individuals continue to receive treatment. We could not do it without you and so appreciate your work and dedication to your clients and the facility.

The Prison Ministry Group, Residents Encounter Christ (REC) visited MCF-Stillwater on Thursday, July 20. It is so kind of them to appreciate the hard work we do every day. The goodies and refreshments were great! We also would like to thank them for what they do for us every year and that we appreciate them as well.

FY23 consisted of Control Tactics and CPR recertifications. Without the below mentioned instructors we would not have been able to successfully complete our required training. Each instructor has a wide range of skills and experience in communication, listening, collaboration, adaptability, empathy, and patience, to name a few. Thank you for your hard work and dedicating your time to teach others.

I'd like to thank our OPH BLS instructors Matt Cash, Dustin Marcellus, Josh Meineke, De'Andre Moss, Nurse Ali O'Brien, Jordan Olson, Chris Roth, Elizabeth Mauricio, Logan Seever, Zina Siruk, Craig Thacker, Craig Uhl, Nick Witter and our Self-Defense/Control Tactics instructors Dominic Casalenda, Nick Minetto, De'Andre Moss, Chris Roth, Alfred Sanyaolu, Ethan Scheible, Justin Steinberg, and Chris Veith.

  • Shout Out: ISR Supervisor Kelley Blake

I'd like to give a shout out to Supervisor, Kelley Blake.

I was in a time-crunch to get an important document to the courts. My supervisor was on vacation, and her coverage was also out of the office. Kelley is the ISR supervisor, so she doesn't work directly with me. Kelley was able to get the approvals I needed so I could get my document to the courts in a timely fashion. She offered to help, knowing it wasn't her responsibility.

Thank you Kelley for going above and beyond, being kind and quick to action! You made my day!!

  • Shout Out: Lawrence Anoke

Somehow I lost VPN access overnight recently and was panicked to find out the next morning logging in. Lawrence from the MNIT help desk restored access with patience, humor, and grace using several different strategies to resolve the issue.

When there is a lot to accomplish in a day, the last thing anyone needs is an IT issue and I can't stress enough how nice it is to know there is quick help at my fingertips.

We would like to give a Shout Out to the staff listed below for their support of new staff.

Thank you to Sgt. Frank, Officer Braun, Sgt. Cherne and Officer Cherne for their willingness to take time with new staff, as well as their professional and personal approach to training new staff.

Also, a shout out to Phil Trana in the Food Service Area for his kindness and efficiency with which he provides introduction, training, and assistance to staff as they begin their work in the food services area. The hands on, step-by-step guidance he provides is much appreciated.
