  • Red Wing Promotes Kimmes to Sergeant

    Congratulations to Danielle Kimmes on her promotion to Sergeant!

    Sergeant Kimmes has been with the department for over 5 years and has taken it upon herself to go above and beyond to get involved in various different aspects of the facility, and the department as a whole. Sergeant Kimmes is actively involved in CISM, CIT, Beyond the Yellow Ribbon Committee, Self Defense/Control Tactics, and is an operator for the Special Operations Response Team. Her dedication and commitment is going to be a great asset to the Sergeant ranks.

  • St. Cloud Promotes Berg to Lieutenant

    Daniel Berg began his career with the DOC in October of 2009 and has owned and operated a Licensed Security Company in Minnesota since 2014. He will be working as the 3rd watch Watch Commander. What motivated him to make the jump to Lieutenant?

  • St. Cloud Promotes Hurd to Sergeant

    In 2013, Sgt. Aric Hurd started as a CO at MCF- Rush City. Accumulating a total of 10 years as an officer, he has experience working units, as well as working 2nd watch A-Team for the last 4 years. His new position is 3rd watch, Living Unit B Sgt.

    When asked about his promotion, Sgt. Hurd said, “I was motivated to be a Sgt. to use my experience to help new and younger staff succeed."

  • New Lieutenants Promoted at Rush City

    On March 29, MCF-Rush City promoted Lt. Brad Steele, who has accepted 1st Watch Command, and Lt. Scott Huckell, who has accepted 3rd Watch Command. Congratulations to both of these outstanding individuals who possess many years of corrections experience!

  • Oak Park Heights' Binkley Promotes to 3rd Watch Lieutenant

    Congrats to Sgt. Travis Binkley on his promotion to 3rd watch Lieutenant!

    Lt. Binkley began his career with the DOC in 2010 as a Kitchen Supervisor at STW. In April 2011, he started as an Officer at FRB where he worked for two years before transferring to OPH, then was promoted to Sgt. on 3rd watch in June, 2018.

    Binkley has volunteered for a variety of programs and projects. He started as a Field Training Officer in 2017, and in 2021 he assumed the role of FTO Coordinator. In 2014, he joined the Crisis Intervention Team, progressing to a CIT Coach in 2018.

  • Oak Park Heights' Cash Promotes to Sergeant

    Congratulations to Sergeant Matt Cash on his promotion to Complex 2/Canteen Sergeant.

    Sergeant Cash began his career with the DOC at Oak Park Heights in April 2012. In June of 2022, Sergeant Cash accepted a WOOC Sergeant position in Complex 5. Sergeant Cash completed a 40 Casework Practicum and Evidence Based Practices training. He is also an AHA BLS/Heart Saver Instructor.

    Sergeant Cash received his Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice from Winona State.

  • Oak Park Heights Nurse Hansen Promoted to RN Supervisor

    Congrats to Stacia Hansen on her promotion to RN Supervisor at OPH.

    Nurse Hansen has over 8 years of experience as an RN including her 6 years with the DOC. During her time as an RN Senior at Oak Park Heights, Nurse Hansen demonstrated excellent critical thinking skills, ability to manage challenging patient concerns/emergencies and played an active role in promoting quality healthcare. Her dedication to our department did not go unnoticed.

    Nurse Hansen also has experience as an RN Special Investigator for the Minnesota Department of Health, RN Case Manager with HCMC Clinic, and supervisory experience with Allina Health Urgent Care. We are excited to have Nurse Hansen join our OPH management team.

  • Oak Park Heights Mosser Promoted to Sergeant

    Officer Lindsay Mosser was promoted to Complex 5 Sergeant on 3rd Watch effective March 29, 2023.

    Sergeant Lindsay Mosser began her career with the DOC in April of 2015. She started in ACU, where she stayed for 2 years. Lindsay then bid into Complex 3, and has remained there for the past 6 years. She had been a member of the FTO program for 4 years, while also participating with the BTYR and ICSM groups.

    Previous to her time with the MN DOC, she volunteered with at risk youth, and with the Ramsey County Guardian Ad Litem Program.

    Congratulations Lindsay!

  • Jacob Bonnerup Promotes to Education Director at Faribault!

    Ed. Director Bonnerup began his career with the DOC in 2018; he previously taught Workplace Human Relations for all Career Tech programs.

    Ed. Director Bonnerup began teaching at Brown College in 2003 until he became the General Education Chair in 2014. In 2016 he began teaching courses at Inver Hills Community College. While at Inver Hills Community College, he began teaching higher ed. courses at various DOC facilities, including MCF-FRB.

    His first official day as the new Education Director at MCF-FRB was March 1, 2023. Congratulations!
